Stolen Thunder-101.jpg

Stolen Thunder are a four-piece alternative rock band formed in Santa Barbara, California in 2011, after guitarist, Christian Pelonis and lead singer, Katelyn Mires signed up for Santa Barbara’s Battle of the Bands and won first place.

Mires and Pelonis, continued practicing as a band at Rockshop Academy, under the direction of George Pendergast of Dishwalla. Band members came and went over the next six years as the two stayed focused on the music. The band went on to win the most votes in a VH1 nationwide music video contest (for challenging the lack of funding for music in our schools. No stranger to live audiences, the band has performed at such notable venues as the Lobero Theater, Whisky-a-Go-Go, House of Blues and Hard Rock Cafe where they garnered technical and touring experience and found their voice as musicians.

In 2015, MIX Magazine mentioned Stolen Thunder as “a band to watch”. Music insiders have compared the young band to skilled studio musicians well beyond their years.   Their sound deftly mixes rock, punk and metal with Mires proving to be a powerhouse vocalist and stunning front person with controlled intensity on stage.

The band took a break in 2016 to record their first EP under the production and guidance of Chris Pelonis of Lost Coast Records at Studio 606. They recorded their debut EP with Chief Engineer, John “Lou” Lousteau who co-produced the record, with Taylor Hawkins on drums.

Stolen Thunder’s current line up includes Katelyn Mires on Vocals, Ethan Harb on drums, Christian Pelonis on guitar/vocals and Elliot Chesebrough on bass. The band are set to begin touring in support of their debut EP “Desire” this fall.  Music on iTunes.
